Good evening all,

Shorebirding continues to be excellent in and around the Hamilton area. This evening (Wed), a walk out to the "Willows" in the Dundas Marsh, revealed 1 juv Buff-breasted Sandpiper and 5 juv Red-necked Phalaropes. Other notable Shorebirds were, 4 juv Bairds Sandpipers, 3 juv Stilt Sandpipers, 3 juv Solitary Sandpipers, 20 juv Short-billed Dowitchers, 4 adult Black-bellied Plovers, along with many, many peeps, yellowlegs, etc.

On the way back to the Car over Cootes Drive, I had a flock of 25 + Common Nighthawks foraging overhead. A true spectacle.

Directions: The Dundas Marsh can be accessed from Cootes Drive, which runs adajacent to Mc Master University, in Hamilton. Take the trail to the right of the Creek. The trailhead is well marked with a piece of Blue Styrofoam.

Good wader watching,

Dave Don
