This is just a quick report as I did not check the whole Marsh. 1 BCNH adult,
lots of mallards, northern shovelers and still some wood ducks, 2 trumpeters
(tagged) and 1 immature mute. This bird may need to be relocated as no one has
ever seen it fly and it is alone. Sadly I must tell you the rescue last week
looked wonderful but the heron did not make it. Now there is another great blue
heron at the north west corner with something tangled in its beak. I cannot see
exactly what it is or how it affects the bird. It seems healthy but I have yet
to see it catch a fish or fly for that matter. If anyone is down there with a
good scope this weekend please try to find it and figure out if this bird needs
to be rescued. Let me know and I will pass the word along. Thanks
Arlene Brazeau

Directions: 401 to Port Union go south to Lawrence then east to the end where
you will find the marsh
