Hi Ontbirders, Around 2 p.m. today (13 November), there was an adult Golden Eagle hunting & perching in the area of the firing range along March Valley Road. It was flying for a brief time in the company of a Rough-legged Hawk. The Golden Eagle remained in the area for about an hour before flying off in an easterly direction. For good measure, a Barrow's Goldeneye was seen around noon from the Remic Rapids Lookout. Roger Clark (613) 744-0314 Directions: from the western end of Carling Avenue, turn north onto Herzberg Road, which becomes Terry Fox Drive. Turn right onto March Valley Road & drive a couple of kilometres scanning the open fields on the right.
