Greetings birders just thought would report that our areas first flock of evening grosbeaks in months was spotted outside of cobalt as well pine grosbeak and redpoll numbers seem to be rising in the area perhaps signaling the vanguard of the return of winter finches to the north. The Hilliardton marsh has hosted quite a number of hoary redpolls recently much to the pleasure of many who went hoping to specifically see some last week. Pish on!! Bruce Murphy
