An immature Little Blue Heron is currently in the pond beside Bird Studies Canada's Headquarter office in Port Rowan. The bird is predominently white, but is in transitional plumage with many blue feathers, giving it a mottled appearance.
The bird was first spotted briefly this morning at Old Cut banding station by Ted Matterford, but had apparently not been resighted until now. BSC's office is located at the western end of Port Rowan along Front Street. The pond is visible from the observation deck on the south-west corner. To reach Port Rowan, you can take highway 59 south and turn east of Front Street. BSC's office is a few hundred meters from highway 59, on the south side of Front Street.
