Friends of Point Pelee provides daily updates of sightings within Point Pelee National Park during the Festival of Birds May 3 through May 19, 2008
A Lark Bunting was reported this morning from the West Beach, just north of the train loop. However, there have been no further sightings since the initial observation at 7:15 this morning. A singing male Kentucky Warbler is present in Tilden Woods, near the first seasonal trail entrance. The Mottled Duck was still present at Hillman Marsh as of yesterday evening. There have been no reports today of the Black Vulture seen yesterday. Rainy weather and east winds are keeping activity generally low throughout the park. However, a good variety of migrants are still present including Indigo Bunting, Red-headed Woodpecker, Wilson's, Cerulean, Chestnut-sided, Black-throated Blue, Blackburnian, and Bay-breasted Warblers, Northern Parula, Yellow-breasted Chat, and Yellow-throated and White-eyed Vireos Good Birding, Hike Leaders, Pete, Ross, John, Dave, Karl, Justin, Kim Janice Rogers, General Manager www.friendsofpointpelee.com _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
