Today I saw a pair of Sandhill Cranes preening and feeding in a grassy pasture
on the 20th Sideroad of Bradford-West Gwillimbury just south of the 14th Line.
Presumably this is the same pair that were courting and feeding in the area
back in the spring, although I was not able to observe any "colts" (young) with
them. I would be interested in knowing from any of you crane experts at what
stage the young might be at this time of the year.

Go North on Hwy. 400 to County Road 88. Turn right and go to the junction of
Holland St. and Simcoe Rd. Turn left at the lights and go north to the 14th
Line. Turn right and proceed to the 20th. SR. Turn right and look on the left
in the grassy meadow past the farm on your left.
