Weather:
Sunny skies were seen throughout the day today with nary a cloud to be had
at any point during the day. Winds were light east-northeast early in the
day becoming moderate southeast by midday.

Raptor Observations:
Diversity was very good today but overall numbers were down considerably
from the last couple of days. The exception to this was the Turkey Vulture
flight which has been increasing it seems with each successive day, an
expected scenario at this point of the season.

Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jays moved steadily throughout the day, much of the flight to the
north but with some good sized strings over or near the count site.
Monarchs had one of their better days but I’ve yet to see any large
movements of butterflies this fall. In all I would say they are down
considerably from the last few years. Other new migrants noted in the park
today were Ruby-crowned and Golden-crowned Kinglets.
