Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 13:00:00
Total observation time: 5 hours

Official Counter: Bob Pettit

Observers: Jim McCoy

Visitors:
A few local folks joined the slow raptor day but enjoyed the jay parade.

Weather:
A good day for migration with N to ENE winds less than 5 mph. Sky foggy
first hour than much clearinig with 50%-25% high cirrus cloud cover.
Tempature ranged early from 17 C to 26 C . Humidity started at 82% and
ending with 43%. Barometer was generally steady at 30.38 in Hg.

Raptor Observations:
An ideal day for raptors but few cam through. Some were tree height and
others were very high beyond unaided vision. The high thin cirrus and
cirrocumlus were necessary as a backdrop to view the high birds. Scanning
was the only way to see the high birds. Many were detected only by being in
the background when an other birds was being followed.

Non-raptor Observations:
It was a Blue Jay day. These birds must have known that the raptors were
not gooing to go much so they did instead. Only twice were jays being
chased by raptors. Once by a Sharpie and one by a Peregrine Falcon. Neither
were successful. The Peregrine wasn't really trying either.

42,570 Blue Jays from 8 AM - 1 AM EST

A good day.
