Winds were light north-northwest early becoming brisk northeast by mid morning then east-northeast later in the day. Raptor Observations: Another steady vulture flight was recorded today although not quite as large overall as the last two days. Most other species were seen in much smaller numbers today although I suspect much of this was due to the clear blue skies and the fact that birds flew by undetected. Golden Eagles however saw a nice early season peak with 9 total recorded including a group of 4 flying together in the latter part of the day. This group initially was seen with an immature Bald Eagle, interacting with one or more of the juvenile Goldens in some dog fighting maneuvers. Rounding out the highlights for the day was a light morph Rough-legged Hawk.
