There was a flock of approximately 20 White-winged Crossbills feeding on pine cones just west of Bathurst Street in Newmarket this afternoon (Joker's Hill forest between Mulock and Davis Drive). Earlier this week Keith Dunn observed the first Snow Buntings of the season in this area - a flock of 30 birds along Ravenshoe Road west of Leslie Street in SW Keswick.
