The white adult Snow Goose that has been lingering in the Jackson's Point area
for the better part of a month was still present today, keeping company
with 100+ Canada Geese beside Mossington Bridge, just east of "The Briars"
resort.  Yesterday Keith Dunn also had a Red-necked Grebe at this location.  At
nearby Willow Beach a female Red-bellied Woodpecker visited Lorena Campbell's
feeder (Montsell Ave.) yesterday afternoon.  Earlier in the week Keith Dunn
observed a Barred Owl along Deer Park Road just north of Keswick.

In the south end of Keswick this morning Mike Van den Tillaart and I observed a
light-morph Rough-legged Hawk (adult male), our first for the "winter".  It was
hovering over the fields on the north side of Ravenshoe Road, not far from
where that road meets the river at the southwest end of Cook's Bay.
A drive along the lakeshore between Keswick and Jackson's Point yielded seven
species of duck.  In the north end of Newmarket a small flock of Eastern
Bluebirds is still lingering around Linda Hollingshead's property on Morning
Sdrd.  Both Keith (in Keswick) and Mike (in Newmarket) had Purple Finch at
their feeders this week.

Newmarket is halfway between Toronto and Barrie.  Jackson's Point is on the
south shore of Lake Simcoe, just west of Sibbald Point.
