Hello ONTBirders:

The male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE is still present on the small unfrozen portion of
the Rideau River near the Rideau Tennis Club. Today it was present in the
patch of water near the 417 bridge at around 8am this morning, and again at
5pm. Otherwise the open water was dominated by MALLARDS and up to 30 COMMON
GOLDENEYE males and females. No gulls were present near the river, but in the
evening GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULLS could be seen circling the area.

Good birding!

Pat

DIRECTIONS: From 417, take exit 117 and turn onto the Vanier Parkway. Turn
left onto Donald Street and follow to the end of the road - parking is
available at the Tennis Club.
