The Western Grebe was resting off the south end of the park at 5:00 P.M. Thanks to Jean who stayed around to point it out to all the new comers. The bird perked up several times giving great views of its long slim neck, black cap and long yellow bill. It was seen due south off the marina parking lot. A scope is needed to distinguish it from the Long-tailed Ducks since it is a long way off.
Directions: (Per Ron) The grebe is on Lake Ontario off Ashbridges Bay Park at the foot of Coxwell Ave off Lakeshore Blvd east of the Leslie Street Spit in Toronto.
