Yesterday a group of six Peterborough Field Naturalists encountered a
Red-headed Woodpecker on Lakeshore Rd east of Bond Head near the junction
with Morgans Rd.. The bird was first seen in a hedgerow close to the road
and later flew to the top of a power line pole where everybody was able to
get a good look at it.

>From Hwy 401 turn south at the Mill St exit (junction 440) to Bond Head and
follow Lakeshore Rd east. Morgans Rd is the first road east of the old
wooden railway bridge at Stephenson Rd
