Hello!

We were out driving along Lakeshore Road, west out of Port Hope, between Port
Hope and Port Britain Tuesday evening when we spotted 4 red headed woodpeckers.
They were landing on wooden telephone poles, then fluttering down over the
road, as if they were taking insects on the wing, then going back to the
telephone poles. This was happening around 7:45 p.m. They were very active on
the telephone poles that run along the road. We pulled over to watch and they
were not bothered by our appearance at all. Their markings are very clear; a
totally red head, black upper body and white lower back. This is a neat find,
because they are not commonly found in this area.
