The Avocet was observed by myself from approximately 7:15 pm to 8 pm, actively feeding on the mud flat in Pringle Creek, observed from the Brock St., Whitby, bridge--east side.
Directions: 401 and exit Brock STREET South in Whitby (not Brock Road in Pickering). Continue south past Victoria Street, crossing a small bridge over Pringle Creek. Parking available at Lake Park approximately 300 metres south of the bridge (No Parking signs posted in the vicinity of the bridge).
