Not sure who first found this bird (initially seen sept 14/15 I think?) , but I stumbled across it today driving north away from the southern tip of Point Petre on RR 24. The bird was with a juv. Eastern Kingbird and was catching insects on the wire between the houses numbered 934 and 808. No idea if the bird has been in this area all along, or if it wanders - since I don't think the bird has been reported yet? I had only heard second hand reports before today.
Two photos of this bird and one of the Dickcissel seen sept 14 on my website: http://www.peregrineprints.com/ind__WhatsNew.htm Happy Birding! Brandon __________________| Directions: from Picton follow RR 10 south through Cherry Valley. Turn right onto RR 24 and follow it as far south as you can go. Near the end of the road, it becomes Point Petre Rd. The bird was at the end of the road. The Western Kingbird was seen on RR 24, on the paved section before the road turns into Point Petre Road. Between houses 934 and 808. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
