Hello Ontbirders,

Today, while checking for Short-eared owls at Seed Rd. & Cuddy Drive, Ed, Kay
and I spotted a Snowy Owl on top of a hydro pole about 150 yds. north of
Egremont Dr. (Hwy. 22) on Seed Rd. Too dark to see it well. As we backed up
to look at it better, it flew down and disappeared in the snow. No Short-eared
were observed today. Many snowmobiles active in the fields where the
Short-eared hunt.

Directions: from London drive west on Hwy. 22 (Fanshawe Park Rd. changes to
Egremont Dr. at Denfield Rd.) to Seed Rd. (northwest of Strathroy). Turn right
onto Seed Rd. Scan the open fields.

Gail McNeil,
London, Ontario.
