Yesterday I counted a single flock of 160 Wild Turkeys in a one open field north of Gananoque. The 150m x 500m field had no apparent food in it, simply deep snow to eat... go figure?
The field was parallel to a deep deciduous forest, but the Turkey Convention was confined to the open field. Perhaps just a poor choice of caterers. :-) DIRECTIONS: from Gananoque (east of Kingston, ON), leave Hwy 401 and proceed north on Hwy 32 about 10km. The Convention was in a field on the west side, impossible to miss! Best Pishes, Ken Kingdon PS - if interested, I can send a photo of this flock _________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
