Taking advantage of a break between the hockey games, and having seen 5
Bonaparte's Gull in the morning at Deschennes Rapids, I decided to see if there
was any activity there this evening. Between 6 and 7 PM there were 74
Bonaparte's Gull, mostly adult, 1 1st Summer Little Gull, and 2 Arctic Tern
among the hundreds of Ring-billed Gulls hawking emerging mayflies. The rapids
can be viewed from the Ontario side at from the point at the eastern side of
the Britannia Filtration Plant.
