Three Long-tailed Jaegers have just flown by a group of us at Hutch's Restaurant on Van Wagner's Beach. They were pretty far out harassing gulls but one had the characteristic long tail plumes and the overall colour patterns as seen in Brandon's great pictures. The other two would be considered second/third year basic plumage. Even with the south west fairly brisk winds the birds seem to still be here from the last few days
Directions QEW to Woodward. Turn right and loop around to Van Wagner Beach Rd. Wow just as I was writing this two of them flew right by us on the beach. Awesome. Pete Read et al.
