There were 10 cave swallows on the spit this afternoon.  They were circling
together over the lake on the east side of the spit just past where the road
forks as you head out on the spit, approx. 1.5 km from the parking lot.
Also about 100 snow buntings and 2 short-eared owls just a bit further south
along the east side.
