Hi Ontbirders,

A female Black-backed Woodpecker was foraging along a trail beside the
Eardley-Masham Road west of Ottawa.  It was seen around 10h.30 yesterday
(Thursday) morning.

Directions:  Take Hwy 148 west of Gatineau (Aylmer) for approximately 40 km. to
the Eardley-Masham Road running north into Gatineau Park.  Follow this road for
5.9 km. to the NCC Trail (#56) parking lot.  The Black-backed Woodpecker was
found about 150 m. along the trail, foraging on both sides.

Along the Eardley-Masham Road were also seen 3 Northern Shrikes & one 2nd-year
Bald Eagle.

Cheers,

Roger Clark
Ottawa
