Hi All, Earlier today (12:00 PM), Jean and I made a quick stop at Lawrence P Sayers Park in Stoney Creek (Hamilton) to look for scoters. Black, White-winged and Surf Scoter were observed from the shoreline. In addition to the three scoter species, we observed Common and Red-breasted Merganser, Long-tailed Duck, and many Common Goldeneyes. At the end of Green Road we had close views of White-winged Scoters. Surf Scoters were seen further out in the lake. Cheers, Bob Highcock and Jean Hampson St. Catharines, ON Directions: Heading towards Hamilton on the QEW, exit at Fruitland Rd and travel north to the North Service Rd. Turn left onto the North Service Rd and head west until you reach Drakes Drive. Turn right onto Drakes Dr. and then right onto Oceanic Dr. Drive along Oceanic until you reach Lakegate Drive. Sayers Park can be seen from the intersection of Oceanic and Lakegate. The dead end of Green Road can be reached from the North Service Rd and is approximately 0.5 kilometres east of Drakes Avenue. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
