Dear Ontbirders:

This message is going out with the permission of the Ontbirds Coordinator.

If you know of a 2010 Yellow-breasted Chat breeding record in Ontario, or any
record in breeding habitat after May 15, please contact me at
[email protected].

The COSEWIC update report on the Yellow-breasted Chat is soon to be completed,
and we'd like to make sure it is as up to date and complete as possible for
Ontario birds. So far, we know of only two potential breeding sites with chats
after May 15, 2010 (one at Rondeau and one in Elgin County), and only one of
those had confirmed breeding (Elgin County). We know of no breeding chats at
Pelee or on Pelee Island this year - despite the fact that the previously-known
breeding sites for the species were checked.

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

Happy Holidays!

Mike
