The Northern Shrike which was reported to be in the area of Rifle Rd and
Carling Ave by another birder a few days ago continues to hunt in the area. The
Shrike was seen by Deborah McKeand and Ken Garrett at 10 AM on 30 Dec. The bird
was perched at the top of a tree on the west side of Rifle Rd approx midway
between Carling Av and the Ottawa River. It flew off in a southerly direction
toward Carling Ave.
