For the third day in a row there has been a Northern Shrike on Dutch Lane, just
south of Fly Rd. ( called Mud Street to the west-Grimsby, Stoney Creek etc.)
He has been sitting on the roadside bushes, and today partway out in the first
field along the fenceline, always on the west side of the road. He would appear
to be a first winter bird with a pale mask and bit of an eye-ring.
Directions: QEW to Ontario St. Beamsville, go south to the end at King St.
turn left at the light then first right at the next light, up Mountain Street
to Fly Road, turn left, pass 2 sideroads then right on Dutch Lane and watch for
him in that first block.
Enjoy Family Day! Nancy Smith RR#1 Vineland, On
