I have just received a report with photos of a Western Grebe. The photos appear to be from 3:30 PM today. The bird was found and photographed by James and Christopher Boccia.

The bird was 50 meters off shore on the east side of the Spit probably off the base of the spit. It may be visible from Ashbridges Bay.

The Leslie Street Spit is at the base of Leslie Street east of the Don Valley Park. It is also known as Tommy Thompson Park. The park is closed during the week at a gate 500 meters south of Unwin Ave.
