West of Sturgeon Falls on highway 17 I took the turn to Cache Bay, where there was a Belted Kingfisher and Raven. I left Cache Bay on Levac road and turned south on Guenetta Road. South of the railway tracks there were over 100 Cranes flying, mainly on the west, so I went to Laplage Road, the next road south from Levac.
Between Guenetta and Laplage there was a flock of 40 Cranes south of Levac Road. On Laplage there were 240 in groups ranging from 30 to 120, plus others flying. Also in that area were 4 American Kestrels (+ 1 later further west), 1 Merlin and 1 juvenile Northern Harrier. East of Warren there was a Ruffed Grouse on the shoulder of the road, and west of Warren there was a bear on the railway tracks watching the traffic on the road.
