Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Weather: Winds out of the east today shifting to the south as the day progressed. Temperatures ranged from 15-20 C. Mostly cloudy today with fog early and haze throughout. Raptor Observations: This Day of Research was sponsored by Mr. Rayfield Pye of Oshawa, Ontario. A few migrants trickling through, but overall quite slow. Highlights were two Peregrine Falcons, both north over the marsh. Most birds were still north of the tower, but some were marginally closer than they have been for the past week. Non-raptor Observations: Highlights today included a Purple Finch, three Red-headed Woodpeckers, and the new additions of Winter Wren and Blue-headed Vireo to the foraging flock around the tower.
