A pair of red-headed woodpeckers was seen between 3:00 & 3:30 pm yesterday, Oct 18, and a single adult was observed at the same location yesterday around 6 pm! We have not had time to return today to see if they are still around.
The sighting is on a First Nations Reserve; the person whose house they have been seen at says they have been around there for the past few days. Access to a reserve is technically restricted to band members only unless given permission/an invitation by a band member; my father is a band member, and I am becoming a band member. I have discussed this with and have permission from the Ontbirds coordinator; in order to prevent any unintentional offense or misconduct while on the reserve, it is best that I accompany those interested in seeing them; please contact me at this email address. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
