Although we recorded only 5 raptors on Oct.20, much time was spent
watching 10 duck species, incl. over 7000 red-breasted mergansers
flying west along the lakefront; on the wetland there were perhaps 100
Am.Wigeons, several Wood Ducks, many N.Pintails, Pied-billed Grebe,
Am.Coot, 2 Great Egrets, Blue-winged teal, Green-winged teal,
N.shoveler.

An imm. Red-headed Woodpecker was noted in a tree at the north end. A
Rusty blackbird appeared among the birds feeding on the path near our
viewing platform.

Thanks to Geoff Carpentier for his Oct.19 raptor report-- 433
migrating hawks over 3.5 morning hours--incl. 2 Bald Eagles, 1 Osprey,
415 Turkey Vultures.

Also thanks to Jean Iron for her Oct.18 report--71 raptors, incl. 1
