Sorry for the late post but Rich Fried and Rob Bate saw the adult
SLATY-BACKED GULL late on Tuesday afternoon. It was on the large flat rock
island that is in the middle of the river below the control gates. They
were viewing from Goat Island, just upstream from Three Sisters Islands.
They were able to see the bird in flight also. Rich and Rob also saw the
Slaty-backed Gull with me and about 75 other birders on Saturday, viewing
from the pull-off below the control gates. Rich noted that gulls were
streaming onto the rock island after dusk, suggesting to him that they would
roost there for the night.

Good birding!

Willie
