OFO members are invited to submit a photograph or original artwork to be considered for inclusion on the front or inside cover of the forthcoming edition of the Ontario Bird Checklist. The new edition of the checklist is currently scheduled for publication and distribution in the first half of 2012. Members are asked to limit their submissions to a single photograph and/or artistic composition, and in the case of a photograph please indicate the date and location where it was taken. Please only submit photographs of alive, wild, and unrestrained birds encountered within the geographical limits of the Province of Ontario. Individuals acknowledge and agree that by making a submission, they are consenting to the use and reproduction of the image by OFO for its published checklist, including the commercial sale of the checklist. The OFO board of directors will select the images to be used at a board meeting scheduled for January 12, 2012. In addition to the requirements above, criteria for selection will include the resolution of the image and its suitability for reproduction, the subject matter, artistic composition and the circumstances surrounding the taking of the photograph or creation of the artwork. Further consideration will be given to submissions from longstanding OFO members.

Notification of selection will take place on or before January 31, 2012.
