Hello Birders, A male Eurasian Wigeon was seen at Townsend Sewage Lagoons between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. by Andrew Keaveney and Mark Field. It was on the bank between the western cells. Large flocks of Canada Geese were noted flying northward when we arrived, visible across most of the horizon north of the lagoons. A single Snow Goose was also present, but left with a flock of Canadas soon after we arrived.
An immature male King Eider was seen at LaSalle Park in Burlington between 3:45 and 4:45 p.m. by the same observers. It was visible from the boardwalk, quite close to shore. Directions to the EUWI (from Ken Burrell): Take Hwy. 3 east from Simcoe. Turn left onto Keith Richardson Parkway. Take the first road north of Hwy. 3. Go about 300m. and park. The lagoons are on the north side. Directions to the KIEI: >From Hwy. 403 take Waterdown Road south until you reach the Marina. The >boardwalk is NE of the parking lot.
