Hello All

Migration has certainly picked up in the park in the last three days.
There have been lots of great sightings today.

As was just reported earlier - a Western Meadowlark was present on the
West Beach footpath today, by the aptly nicknamed "serengeti tree", approx
200 m north of the Tip transit loop. This trail was also productive for
sparrows today, with Clay-colored and Grasshopper Sparrows, both noted.
Vesper Sparrows were found at the Northwest Beach parking lot.

American Pipits were seen at the Tip today and also reported along the
east beach, just north of the 42nd parallel sign. A Yellow-breasted Chat
was heard singing in the West Beach parking lot.

The diversity of warblers has greatly increased in the last two days, with
Cerulean Warbler, noted both at Sanctuary and Tildens Woods, Golden-winged
Warbler at both Sanctuary and the Tip and Blue-winged Warbler on the
Woodland Nature Trail.

Both species of oriole have returned, Red-headed Woodpecker and Indigo
Bunting are also back.

Our daily reports from the Friends of Point Pelee hike leaders start
tomorrow. Until then, good birding.
