Hello Ontbirders - Continuing the thread on Whimbrels, I observed approx. 150 Whimbrel and 1 Willet wheeling around Rondeau Bay at 4pm on May 23; also (attn Chip W.) there are 8 Herring Gull nests and 45+ Double-crested Cormorant nests on the small crescent islands in Rondeau Bay located approx. 1.5 km NE of the village of Erieau. Marsh Wrens were commonly heard singing through-out the cattatil habitat along the east side of the interior marsh.
Rondeau Bay is located adjacent Rondeau Prov Park on Lake Erie, accessed via hwy 3 in Chatham-Kent County.
