Hi Birders:

There are now two hatchling Red-Necked Grebes on the nest near the picnic dock
at Bronte Harbour. 4 eggs are still in the nest.

The Pied-Billed Grebe was also present in the Harbour among the boats between
the Compass restaurant and the large pier.

The Fish Crow was seen by the French Restaurant on Bronte Road. It was being
buzzed by a Red Winged Blackbird. I frequently hear the Crow in the area of the
parking lot that is behind Lick’s.

The other Red-Necked Grebe nest, across from OC’s restaurant was actively being
built, although no eggs were sighted today.

Directions: Exit the QEW at Bronte Rd. (Oakville) and go to the lake. The grebe
nest is just east of Compass Restaurant on Ontario Street. This area is served
by Oakville Transit routes 2 and 14 from the Bronte and Oakville GO Train
stations respectively.
