Checked the offerings at Cranberry Marsh from the west side.  A pair of Least
Bitterns were observed near the lake end of the marsh, which eventually flew to
the cattails near the more northerly viewing platform at about 10 a.m.
The presence of the bitterns was first indicated by two photographers and then
they were observed by Alan Woods, Doug McCrae and myself.
Two adult and one juvenile Black-crowned Night Herons were also seen.
Two families of Mute Swans had a total of 11 cygnets.
There was one adult Pied-billed Grebe with 5 chicks.
A good variety of ducks was also found, all dabblers.
