One Caspian Tern was viewed this morning at the beach area of Petrie Island.
It was first seen about 9 am in the company of the Ring-billed Gulls resting on 
the beach.
It was viewed a second time about an hour later flying along the shoreline of 
the river heading east toward the beach area.
 
Directions:
 
>From Ottawa take Highway 417 east (The Queensway) to the split for 
>Orleans (Ottawa-Carleton 174, formerly 
Highway 17). 
Stay in the left lanes to take this exit. Drive approx.14 km to the 
Petrie Islands exit which will be left at Trim Road. 
Turn left and follow the road to the beach area.
