While heading west on the 401, just west of Cornwall, my daughter and I observed a Black Vulture take off from a perch in the area between Avonmore Rd. and Moullinette Rd. This was at 6:50pm July 14th.
Obviously, the bird showed the classic dark secondaries and light primaries, instead of our usual TUVU markings. ID'd immediately via Crossley photos to be sure. This is a few km east of the bird sanctuary.
