Today, Sunday August 12th at 10:50, an adult Baird's Sandpiper in somewhat worn
breeding plumage was seen on Isaac Lake Rd just north of Wiarton. It was
feeding with other sandpipers on the edge of the large pond. The bird was still
there when we left at 11:45. Other birds of interest in the wildlife area were
Sandhill Cranes, a Great Egret, Least Sandpipers, both Yellowlegs, Blue-winged
Teals, and Hooded Mergansers. A complete checklist will be submitted later to
eBird.

Directions from Wiarton: Continue north on Highway 6 for several km until you
reach Isaac Lake Rd on the left side of the highway. Turn onto it and continue
down the hill into the marsh complex, and the pond it was seen in is on the
right side of the road, just after to bends south. If you continue on the road
there's a small parking lot and a lookout tower.

Good birding,
Anthony & Matthew Vanderheyden
