Observation start time: 06:30:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8.5 hours

Official Counter: Claude Radley, Todd Pepper

Observers: Martha Derbowka

Visitors:
A couple from the Netherlands on their first birding trip to Canada; The
Neaton's from Ottawa, and Mr. Gray from London.

Weather:
Just as forecast: bright, sunny, warm with temperatures between 20 - 26C;
winds out of the south/southwest between 5 - 10 km/hr

Raptor Observations:
A steady flow of Sharp-shinned Hawks, but they only totalled 90 for the day
our of 139 birds of 11 species. A nice variety of ages in the 7 Bald
Eagles; and always a pleasure to see the Merlins shoot over and under the
tower like rockets.

Non-raptor Observations:
Not a big passerine migration day, but here are a few highlights:

Chimney Swift - 21

Ruby-throated Hummingbirds - 12

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 10

American Goldfinch - 39

Evening Grosbeak - 28

Monarchs - 193

Black Saddlebags - too many to count

Predictions:
The weather forecast for Wednesday is the same as today.
