Hi birders,

This morning among the thousands of geese and ducks, I found a single adult
Greater White-fronted Goose at Laurel Creek Conservation Area.
This is only the third record for the county. I will post some photos on my
blog later today.

Every year in late October, the lake is drained which attracts migrating
waterfowl and concentrates the birds that are already in the area.

Good birding,
Alvan

Directions:
A good spot to check from is link 2. To get there, park at the entrance of
Laurel Creek Conservation Area which can be found on Westmount Road North.
Then walk (1.5km) to the lake by following the road.
Another option is to follow the unmarked trail connecting the points at link
1 and 2 - this trail is about 400m.
Enter the conservation area at your own risk! I'm pretty sure it is closed,
but several people use it anyway ;)
