A stunning eclipse male Eurasian Wigeon was seen by myself and my patient
daughter, Diana, among the hundreds of American Wigeon and Gadwall this
morning at Thickson Point. It is still mainly in non-breeding (summer)
plumage except for the buffy forehead.

There was also present at the point an apparent White-fronted x Canada
Goose hybrid and two Adult Brant. Three more Brant, juveniles, were found
a little further west feeding among the algae-covered rocks.

To reach Thickson Point, take the Lakefront trail from near the foot of
Thickson Rd. and walk west until you see the Thickson Pt. interpretive
sign. Follow the numerous narrow trails to the lake and then west to the
first point of the land.
