05.01.13 - afternoon - along with a flock of about 3000 Canada and Cackling
Geese
that flew in, wave upon wave from the fields came 2 Snow Geese - they have been
around for several weeks - also on an interesting note : the Pond seems to have
developed a spring in its centre - similar to the one that occurred in the now
defunct
Coyote pond - as there is still an area of open water not seen during any winter
since the Pond's inception in 2005 - probably an upwelling from the moraine due
north of it. We'll wait and see if it attracts the many duck species that was a
winter
feature of Coyote. Reesor Pond lies just N of Hyw 407 on Reesor Road in Markham
- cheers - Stan Long
