As has been abundantly documented, the Townsend's Solitaire was seen by many
today. The best place to look for the bird today (and where a number of us
observed it) was from where the driveway of house #8671 meets Langstaff Road.
The bird seems to like perching in the top of some of the trees and dead snags
in the vicinity of the house, and from here one gets a good view of those trees
and snags.
Other birds in the immediate area included a flicker, and Red-bellied, Pileated
and Hairy Woodpeckers, in addition to about 15 Evening Grosbeaks.

Directions: Exit Hwy 401 at Newtonville Road, go north to Ganaraska Road and
turn right. After 1 1/4 km turn left onto Langstaff Road and proceed north past
Thertell Road to #8671.
