Greetings,
This afternoon Don Sutherland and I located a Boreal Chickadee at
Presqu'ile - very likely the same individual reported some weeks ago
from the same site, suggesting it has been there all along. The
chickadee was in some of the closest spruce trees on the south (right
side if you are heading to the lighthouse) side of Bayshore Rd. where
it meets Lilac Lane.
Other interesting birds included an American Coot off the lighthouse,
and a female Northern Harrier flying over near the park gate.
Cheers,
Doug McRae
Directions: Presqu'ile is south of Brighton on the north shore of Lake
Ontario, and is well signed from either Hwy 401 or Hwy 2. Bayshore
Rd. is also informally known as the cottage road, that runs along the
north side of the peninsula.
