Hi all, Today while wading across the Conestogo River in St. Jacob's at 1 PM I heard and then looked up to see a Killdeer flying just above the treetops. The bird moved out of view quickly, flying east, but the call and then the view made identification certain. I guess this system will possibly bring in some other of the early migrant species... Directions: Hwy 85 north out of Waterloo to the traffic circle at Sawmill Road, proceeding west out of the circle, then turn left (south) on King st. N. Cross the river then turn left on Albert st. from which a small road leads to a parking lot and hiking trail along the river. This is where I saw the bird. Of course it was moving quick and may have ended up in Guelph within a half hour! Good birding...
